What's Next?

Adieu West Wing. There's been lots of great WW fanfare over at things thrown, and Sepinwal has put together a list of his best WW episodes ever. My favorite is, without a doubt, In the Shadow of Two Gunmen. , followed in second place by most of season one. I, however, also dearly loved "Somebody's going to emergency, Somebody's going to jail" , not an episode universally beloved, I grant you, but one that gives us qunitessential snapshots of all our major players.

Sunday's episode was better than I feared it would be, with lots to feel good about, not the least of which was the reappearance of the "Bartlett for America" napkin. I know I was supposed to gush over the Charlie moment, but it felt more than a bit disingenuous as we've not seen much of Charlie since he left the job as the president's body man, not to mention the whole scene felt like a not-as-artful redux of the carving knife bit in Shibboleth

In any case, my primary reaction to the episode is relief. It's over. We'll miss you. But it's over.
