They anatomy of Grey's
I did not buy the DVDs, mainly because I've seen all but one or two of the episodes and Grey's, for me, is not the type of show with tremendous replay value. Grey's is my guilty pleasure. It's the show I happily, albeit a bit sheepishly, admit to my friends I love. I watched the first two episodes again Thursday night and realized that Meredeth's voiceovers are her talking "to" Ellis. I missed that the first time around. I also missed that Derek had *just* moved to Seatle, not that those little tidbits change the characters for me. The question episode two left me with: why not put Alex on the team from the beginning. He could have still been the bad boy/screw up without having to be moved in from elsewhere? Perhaps to explain his place on the team as the outsider, but as the other four didn't really develop into the four musketeers and all, I doubt it? Just one of those writerly decisions I'd like to know more about. Maybe the editors got to Alex's storyline and maybe the DVDs have some uncut episodes (in which case I'll have to ask someone who has watched the DVDs and the commentaries to pipe up here and let me know what's what.) In any case, as most of my summer tivo list revolves around the history and discovery channels, I'll likely keep up with the replay of Grey's.
